Ystrad Band is one of the oldest Brass Bands in Wales having been
making music since the Victorian era when Ystradgynlais was an important
industrial town.
We're a friendly community group, spanning a large age range and ability. Our aim is to open up the world of music
to the community of Ystradgynlais by providing free membership and free
tuition to anyone who wishes to join.
We
arrange local concerts and support community organisations such as the
hospital, schools and nursing homes. We have competed at the Brangwyn
Hall in Swansea and in the National Eisteddfod - which is televised each
year on S4C - and taken part in a variety of local events.
In
addition to the usual concerts, fetes and competitions that we perform
